Selling a Home

We understand that owners sell their homes for a variety of reasons and that every situation is different.  We respect that and will work to make this experience as stress-free as possible.

Whether you're selling your home due to a business transfer or military reassignment, "trading up" to a more spacious home in a different location, or even due to a family event such as a death or divorce our staff stands ready to help you sell your home on your terms.

While all real estate transactions involve a degree of negotiation when it comes to final sales price and other terms of the sale, we'll take your unique situation into account when advising you how to best price your home and in reviewing offers received once your home is on the market.

We are here to guide you through the selling process and answer all your questions.

We can begin by providing you with a free comparative market analysis of your home.

Tips for Sellers:

In preparation for listing your home, we recommend you consider the following:

  • Curb appeal is important.  Some things you can do to help make a great first impression include:

    • Maintain the lawn and scrubs

    • Repair damaged gutters

    • Repaint window casings, shutters, siding or doors

    • Wash the windows, inside and out

    • Keep garbage and debris stored out of sight

    • Properly store lawn mowers

    • Keep the garage door closed

  • To give your home a "move-in ready" appeal, some things you should consider for the interior are:

    • A fresh coat of paint will brighten up the rooms

    • Wash floors and shampoo dirty carpets

    • Get rid of clutter.  Clutter makes a house appear smaller to a buyer.  If possible, pack up and move excess clutter and furniture to a self storage facility.

    • Replace air filters

    • Fix or replace worn-out and leaking faucets

    • Clean under sinks

    • Keep odors under control.  Keep cat litter boxes and pet bed areas clean, use potpourri or scented candles to freshen the air, or bake some home-made bread or cinnamon rolls when you are expecting your home to be shown.
